The main objective of the NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication & Welding qualification is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce within the organisation as a whole. Where possible this may be done by integrating the NVQ programme into the organisation’s personnel and business management system. Successful completion of the NVQ programme recognises the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.

The Level 2 is suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide range of activities including manual welding, machine welding, rail welding, brazing and/or soldering, plastic welding, sheet metalwork, platework, structural steelwork, pipework fabrication, composite fabrication and thermal cutting.

To achieve a full Level 2, candidates must complete 7 units in total, made up of 4 mandatory units and 3 optional units.
