JAYNE BURTON

Jayne Burton decided to join learndirect at Partnership for Learning in May 2003. She had recently had to take early retirement from the NHS where she worked as a nurse and was hoping to get into voluntary work with people with disabilities.

Jayne decided that she would like to improve her IT skills so that she could make a difference in this new role. Jayne worked diligently for six months on a flexible learndirect course before gaining European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) level 2 certificate in December 2003.

Jayne enjoyed the experience so much that she has decided to continue her learning and is now working towards her Microsoft Office Specialist certificate using Microsoft Word.

Jayne’s success has led to appearances in several regional newspapers and she continues to make excellent progress.
