IN THE COMMUNITY

INTRODUCTION

Partnership for Learning (Pf L) is making a major contribution to the economic regeneration of South Merseyside.

As well as keeping the area’s major employers at the cutting edge of new learning, we help hundreds of small and medium enterprises to grow and prosper.

Although the area where we operate is one of great optimism and energy, it has historically suffered high unemployment and a shortage of relevant skills.

Through our links with everyone from major employers to local Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Centres, Pf L is helping to bridge that skills gap, creating a more employable workforce and helping to attract new employers to the area.

Our unique bursary programme has provided a springboard into employment for hundreds of people who could potentially have been left behind. As one of the region’s premier e-learning centres we are also helping people acquire vital basic skills in areas such as numeracy, literacy and information technology.

In 2007 the following Agency, Community and Voluntary gruoups accessed the bursary funding.
