Training & Conference Centre of Excellence

Partnership for Learning is a unique training conferencing and business resource in South Merseyside.

It was established when four of the area's major employers - Jaguar, Eli Lilly & Company and Novartis - decided to pool their resources to provide a high quality training, conference and meeting facility close to all four companies.

Their aim was not simply to meet their own training and development needs. Partnership for Learning model set out to provide Merseyside with a world class training facility that would help to improve the competitiveness of existing companies and, by creating a workforce with relevant skills for today's market, to attract potential new employers to the region.

With the help of EU Objective One funding and backing from the North West Development Agency and Liverpool and Knowsley councils, they established Partnership for Learning in a purpose built facility on South Road, Liverpool L24 in March 2001.

Since then, Partnership for Learning's client base has grown to over 1,000 organisations. They range from large established organisations such as The Lear Corporation and Merseyside Police through to many of the new and growing businesses in Merseyside and beyond.

In its first two years Partnership for Learning has provided training for over 10,000 people in everything from fork lift truck operating to leadership skills. In January 2004 it became an approved agent for the delivery of government-backed programmes to help small and medium enterprises access heavily subsidised local training.

Additionally over 3235 local people have benefited from free training through Partnership for Learning's unique bursary programme .

As well as running a thriving conference facility including a state-of-the art presentation theatre.
